The National Evangelical School in Nabatieh is a Protestant American missionary school in the south of Lebanon, which was founded in 1925. It is one of the oldest high schools in the country and one of the first pre-higher education institutions in the Middle East. It is part of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon.
The National Evangelical School in Nabatieh started its academic mission in 1925 under the supervision of the American Commissioners by the name of "American School for Girls in Nabatieh. “It was composed of one rented room that included a few numbers of students. Then it started growing and nowadays it is composed of 4 departments: KG, Elementary, Intermediate and Secondary. Our school boasts a dedicated staff of 119 professionals committed to fostering academic excellence and personal growth. With an enrollment of 1254 students, our school is always willing to uphold a tradition of innovation and community engagement, preparing students for success in an ever-changing world. Mr. Shadi El Hajjar is our school Principal since 2013.
Our first NEASC visit (Foundation Standard Visit) was in April 2018 by Ms. Trillium Hibbeln. She spent three days at our school where she was introduced to school’s facilities, observed some classes, and interviewed some students, parents, and accreditation committee. Three years later, the Foundation Standard visit was reviewed in May 10 and 11, 2023 by Ms. Diane Ullman. She spent 2 days at our school during which she was introduced to our school facilities and she also observed different classes. Afterwards our recent virtual preparatory visit was hosted by the three visitors Ms. Honayda Saade, Mr. Jean Claude Chalouhe, and Ms. Amal Daoud on January 24, 25, and 26, 2024. Throughout the visit, the visitors meticulously observed classes across all departments, allowing them to gain insight into our educational practices. Their observations led to valuable recommendations aimed at enhancing our academic programs and ensuring continued excellence. They also had several interviews with samples of the students, parents, and teachers. These interviews shed light on how communication flows within the school environment, satisfaction with the learning process, and engagement of the stakeholders in the school decisions.
